Cabernet Sauvignon is the classic production of Los Vascos, and is the grape that made the estate famous. The vintages all share a mature and fruity quality, fresh aromas, and a supple and fleshy structure.

Grapevines were planted in the north of Chile in the 16th century, in the wake of Spanish conquistadors, and therefore before the advent of phyloxera in France. The vines are direct producers.

Grape varietals : Cabernet Sauvignon, 100%
Length of ageing in oak barrels : 14-18 months
Average annual production : 270 000 cases per year

In one single plot, the vineyard is located at 34°30’ latitude and 71°30’ longitude, 40 km from the
Pacific Ocean and 200 km to the southwest of Santiago. It is the largest vineyard in the central
Colchagua valley, at the foot of Mount Cañeten.
The 560 hectares under vine are composed of sandy-clay soils and granite soils, both of volcanic origin.
The vineyard is planted with Cabernet Sauvignon (95%) and Chardonnay (5%).
Given that there was major replanting at the beginning of the 1990s, the vineyard is divided betterave a group of 10-year old plots and another group of 40 to 50-year old plots. The oldest grapevines are 60 years old.
